Subject: Easy for a newbie
Comment: I have never sold a gun before and was trying to sell a Mossberg 695 12-ga. slug gun. I had no idea what laws are involved with selling a firearm or what the gun was even worth. The site was simple and straightforward about researching guns like mine (fairly rare and discontinued), getting an idea on price, posting my classified, and how and where to ship the firearm. The gun sold in only 3 days and I got the price I wanted, no questions asked. There was a bit of a hiccup on my part because I messed up changing the status of the gun after it was sold, and ended up relisting and selling the same gun again. (duh) Only a few hours after sending them an email telling them what I have done, they emailed me back and had the charges reversed without any hassle at all. Probably the best part of the site is the fact that the basic classified ads like I used are on an honor system, but for a top-notch site like theirs with service like they have, I could not possibly think about withholding what they deserve for their efforts. I would not be surprised if this was just a canard and that they are in fact allowing illegal gun sales turning a blind eye. Subject: Good, if you know what you're looking for
Comment: Gunsamerica is not so much an auction site as a classifieds ad on the internet. The selection is pretty good, but you're not going to find the same sort of bargains that you would from other, larger sites. The real beauty of this site are the rare items that pop up from time to time and if you're in the market for that hard-to-find collectible firearm, I would definitley pay this place a visit. It's a little inconvenient to navigate and you have to register in order to see the bigger pictures in the auctions. There are also no obvious buyer/seller feedback ratings and that has made me wary of doing business through this site (although not enough not to take advantage of a really good deal once). I have not had to deal with any crooks on this site, so I have no idea how the administrators of the site deal with dishonesty on the part of their sellers. One of the better sites out there if you don't mind registering just to get a better look at your prospective purchase.
